gitea under a subdirectory issues?

officially (as of 2025-05-15) gitea does not recommend hosting under a subdirectory. but it doesn’t provide any examples as to what issues may crop up. i host and maintain a gitea instance under a subdirectory. so far i’ve not ran into any issues whatsoever.

if/when i do, i’ll document them here.
